AFRICAN WOMAN
I will never view you
Through their Western binoculars

| AFRICAN WOMAN |
Trust me, I won't address you
Using their vulgar vernacular
Let the West drool over some
Dowdy, bone dry, wafer-thin figures
And let their shutters stand still
At the sight of an anorexic female
To the anthemic rhythm of your boisterous hips
I will dance
In your supple, sun-kissed voluptuous frame
I will glory.
ADEDAYO GABRIEL FATOKI

African woman represents genuine love, peace, care, beauty, companionship and motherhood. That is what the one beside me means to me. I too will never use their 'vulgar vernacular' to address African woman.
